As if this were not enough, I.S .C.E. is combining this giant undertaking with their sixth annual all-motorcycle show, Cycle ' 72 ! Utilizing the So uth Exhib it Hall of the Cow Palace for. ad d it io n al e xh ib it space, I.S.C.E. will be ruling the Main Arena with dirt for. all the races, as well as the Trials course, which will b e lo cated in the infield area of the track. The Speedway races on the first two evenings will be coordinated by Harry Oxley , promoter. of the Orange County F a irgrounds races in Southern Ca lifornia. The in d o o r Speedway will be a first for t he Bay Area and Oxley has commitments from such aces as Rick Woods, Sonny Nutter, and Mike and Steve Bast. The A.M .A. short track rac ing, including the full program o n closing day , will be supervised by Trippe-Cox Associates, p ro moters of three 1972 A .M.A. Nationals an d the Car lsb ad Trans A .M.A. motocross. T he Trials, sponsored by the Spanish gove rnment, has been entitled the "Spanish Cu p Trials" d ue to the beautifu lly engraved silve r trophy t he Sa n Fr.ancisco cons u la te had manufactured in Spain. Four days of co mpetition will determine fi nalists , who are scheduled to compete during intermissions in the closing day short track. Nationally ranked A.M.A . Experts of the highest caliber. will be so ught for the "San Francisco Invitational": race on April 9. Plans call for the sele ction of a limited number of top Experts for the big race with winners of th e previous . evenings' races qualifying for the balance of the field. Before t he heat America needed a 402 to dr aw and Konle and Nutte r delivered th e goods to a standing ovatio n from th e b ig crowd. A record n umber of exhibits are expe cted by showtime, including privately entered antiques, classics, r a c e r s and customs, as well as, commercial displays of all the latest in 1972 models and acc esso ries. American Honda Mo t or Company has planned o ne of the largest exhibits confirmed for th e show, displaying their latest models, and will be joined by other major manu factu rer s, cl ub exhibits, private individuals, motorcycle novelty co ncessio ns, a nd m an y' others.
