As usual, there were two 125cc C gates, due to the large turnout. as well as full ga tes for m ost other classes . Suzuki pilot Tommy Collier came awa y with wins in the 125cc A and 25 0cc A classes. dominating the 125s a n d fighting off the ad vances of Ma rk Weaver an d his KX250 in th e 250cc A cl ass. Collier sim ply rode mis · take-fr ee to gamer both class victories. In the 125c c A class, YZ 125 rider Craig Clem ents pu lled an awesome holeshot and held on to the lead for a co uple of lap s, while RM J25 pilot Coll ie r and fe ll ow Suzuki rider Ryan McHa l e battl ed for secon d . Beh i nd the m, CR 125-mounted Shaun Kuchler was reeling in the leaders. On ce past Mc Hale, Co il ier quickly displa ced Cle me nts and never looked back. Kuchler also disp laced McHa le and set off aft er Clements, eventua lly passi ng him for th ird . In the 250c c A co ntes t, KX -mounted Mark Weave r snagged the ho leshot and immediately sta rte d to di stance him sel f from the rest of the p ac k . Co ll ie r and M c Ha le had a ba ttle roy ale. Fo r thr ee laps, McHal e m atch ed every move made by Co llier, while Weaver co ntinued to stretch hi s lead . Finally, Co llie r put a whee l in front of McHale around a 180 ~ degree sweepe r and set off afte r Weave r. Co lli e r q uic kly reeled in th e leader and on lap fiv e he too k ove r the top position, w hi ch he held to th e fini sh. In Over 25 B action , Bry ant Torres put his 10<250 in the lead and kept it there to the fi nish . foll owed by CR250 pil ot Greg Hubbs and CR J25-mounted Roland l.ohr. In the Scho olbo y cl ass, the first three riders battled for the lead th e entire m ota. After ta k in g th e hol esh ot o n his KT M SX 125, Crai g Garrett ca me un der fi re fr om the Willia rd brothers · Andy on his CR 125 , and Michael on h is Suz uki RM80. And y was ab le to get by Ga rrett and run off with the v ictory. Michael pressured Garrett th e ent ire mota, but Garrett held him off to the finish. In the Over 4 0 cla ss, YZ-m ou nted Mark Ma the is took the holeshot and led bri efly unti l CR250 rider Chuck Hetri ck took the spot and he ld it to th e finis h. Trent Shell abarger and Mi k e Raga n wo re the biggest sm iles at the end of th e day, as they eac h came away with cha mpio nsh ips in two classes. In other Youth -cla ss action, J ohn Heiden was the 50cc Shaft winner , followed by Ma son Krog . and Justin Hittle was the 85cc cham p, with Clayton Riggle running second.
