Burga rd led for just thre e turn s an d a set of
whoops and th en spun out before the ski jump .
Ha nse n a nd Stone took over the top two slots .
Stone stalked Han sen for a lap and a half, until
Hansen hit a log on the side of th e trail. Stone
had just enoug h roo m to ta ke over the lead.

Sho rtly after the sta rt of the mains, th e race
of the eve ning t ook place - the 65 cc (7 - 1I )
cla ss. From start to fin ish, th e top two riders
were never m ore tha n 10 feet apa rt. As th e 13
ri ders raced down the sta rt , it wa s cl ear that
Rick y Draper want ed to wi n , and that D aniel
Gi fford wa sn 't going to let h im have the win
without one heck of a fight . Gifford was faster
on th e wes t side of th e 120 - foot tun nel, and
Draper had th e edge on th e east side . Th e two
riders swap ped places at least 10 times during
th e ra ce, and th ey went th rou gh th e last four
