Last year's Pee Wee champion, KTM rider Preston Lundin, collected his second consecutive number·one plate. this time in the 60cc class. Although he has already moved up to the 125cc class, Anthony Barbacovi would have ridden with the lowest digit possible in the 80cc ranks for 2000. Shaun Trabert advanced from a midpack Novice to a tough Intermediate competitor. and in doing so he wrapped up the 125cc number-one plate. Nick Mairose has a lock on the 250cc-c1ass championship; the Suzuki rider was awarded with an unprecedented fifth consecutive number-one plate. A superstrong showing during the Saturday night Summer Series helped Chris Reed capture the Junior Vet· class championship.
