PHOTO BY TONY SCAVO Team Green Spring National High Point Raceway Hackley Hacks Up High Point Amateur Days By TONY SCAVO MOUNT MORRIS, PA, MAY 26-28 aunt Morris, Pennsylvania. and Ovilla, Texas: What do these two places have in common? Nothing, really, except for the fact that Sean Hackley hails from Ovilla and he made the trek from the Lone Star State to the grassy hills of the legendary High Point Raceway to completely dominate the 125cc B, 250cc B and Schoolboy classes during the Kawasaki/Monster Energy Pro National's Amateur program, the Team Green Spring National. The Kawasaki-backed Hackley won every single moto he entered on Thursday's program and bobbled only once on Friday, when he got a third in the first 125cc B moto, behind PJ. Larsen and Justin Sipes. Hackley won the second moto to take second overall in that class, behind Larsen. M Hackley is coming into his own on the bigger bikes. He calls Lake Whitney his home track, and he is featured in the No Fear video GromAgeddon along with the likes of Josh Hansen, Tarah Geiger, Ryan Villopoto and Nico Izzi - that's pretty good company for a 8 rider. Hackley wasn't alone in flying the Team Green flag at High Point. Former Pro Austin Squires took his KX250 to the Over 25 A and Vet Aclass wins on Thursday. Only New Jersey legend Barry Carsten could knock Squires off the top of the podium on Friday. Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania's Tyler Sanderson routed the 85cc (14-1 S) division, Amanda Clark swept the Women's class, and North Carolina's James Jordan won the 85cc (7-11) class. Florida's Kyle Chisholm swept the 125cc and 2S0cc A classes on Friday before qualifying for the National on Sunday. Also featured in the High Poine program was a unique race dubbed "Moto-X-Country." This GNCC/motocross hybrid race was a hit with racers, despite the rains that came down Friday night and continued into Saturday morning. In its second year, Moto-X-Country is growing in popularity. The race is designed to use the best of both motocross and orf road, but this year the rain cut the track down to three miles, as some of the more technical victory, with Middleton holding on to second place. Moto [Wo saw Faxon running unopposed for the entire race. Instead of cruising for five laps, Faxon kept up a blistering pace, which saw him well ahead of even the Post-Vintage GP bikes that were sharing the same moto. At the checkered nag, the speedy CZ rider had added another trophy to his already impressive collection. The July round of the CALVMX series was a very successful day for the club and its members. After an August hiatus, the club looks forward to seeing everyone back in action for round seven, set for September I I. RESULTS IRON MAN VI NT NOV: I Steve Caro (CZ). IRON MAN VI NT INT: I. Marcus Havins (CZ): 2. Benny 50 woods sections had to be rerouted. Team Green's Brett Zofchak took the Pro win on his KX250F, but Four-Stroke A rider Kyle Chaney beat him for the overall. You could hear racers hooting and hollering as they slipped and slid their way through the nearby tree line, and the crowd standing at the top of the hill enjoyed every moment as the riders struggled to get their bikes to the top. Interestingly, the GNCC could point out the motocross group easily by the amount of air pressure (Le., too much) that they were running in their rear tires. All in all, Moto-X Country was a big hit with the Pennsylvania masses and will return for a third running next May.
