Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Grant Langston
walked away with his third 125-c1ass overall win of the
AMA Motocross Championship series this year.
With an estimated 27,500 fans looking on, Langston again delivered his Agame and pretty much whooped on everybody. A whole host of Hondamounted racers - including series points leader Mike Brown and his three
teammates - and all of the Suzuki, KTM and Yamaha guys gave chase.
Langston, however, the reigning I25cc Eastern Region Supercross Champion
and former Outdoor National and Grand Prix Champion, was without a doubt
the most consistently fast of all the I25cc racers, and he was so on a track that
was brutally tough and with his still-healing ankle.
"My ankle seems to be doing a bit better, and this couldn't have been a better time for me to be regaining some of the strength, because the conditions
here at Red Bud are definitely going to test the phYSical limits of all the racers," Langston said following Saturday'S practice.
The exclamation point of Langston's weekend came on the last lap of the
second moto when he caught, set up, dove in on and passed Honda's Short right in front of several thousand screaming fans that lined the grandstand
sweeper.
"I was able to stay in front of Grant [Langston] through the last lap," Short
