Kawasaki Garret Slate got his first Open A win at the latest round of the Chowchilla Barn Burner Winter Series in Chowchilla, California. and also competed in the Two-Stroke Open class. Grateful to their sponsors. polite and well-mannered. these boys do their best on and off the track, setting an example for other youngsters at Chowchilla. Clay Chambers got the holeshot in the Vet A contest and led for the first fOUf laps. The competition behind him was fierce, as Donnie Harrell was picking off those in front of him one by one, coming from last place to finish second. Kurt Chandler, using every inch of track space. worked his way under Mark Biscardi and Chambers on lap five to take the lead. At the finish, it was Chandler, Harrell and Chambers. Rick Hocking came out for a little (un this week and rode in the front spot for all 10 laps of the Over 40 contest, with Biscardi behind him. Working his way from last to third, Kevin Crowley rode a great race. Diaz Motorsporn welcomed Joe Jaconetti back following an injury and paid him the money in the I SOcc Money class. Briar Bauman led the 8Scc Money event to the checkers, followed by Michael Avila and Justin Pen. Avila came back to take the 8Scc A win, with Pen and Dusty Nunes following. Bauman led the ISOcc event to the finish, while Pea worked his way into the second spot, ahead of Colt Foster, who finished third. Evenly matched, the I SOcc Adult class started and finished in the same order: Jaconetti, Rod Halstead, Steve Pattee and Joey Santos. Cody Bergen returned this week riding the Vintage C event to victory. and then he gOt the holeshot and the win, in front of Brent Tiernan, in the Open C event. Bergen recently won a gold medal in a marksman competition with 1400 other ROTC competitors. Danielle Diaz, Ricky Diaz and Tiernan rode the 2S0cc C event to first, second and third, respectively.
