The Shamrocks' Desert Scramble s was Wyllie's last eve nt as a Novice , and he made it one to re me mber. Despite a "n o t so good start," according to Wy llie , he was ru nning about 20th o ve rall w hen the bomb funneled o nto the racecou rs e, and h e had picked off approx imately 14 competitors when he came into the pits. " I just didn't have a good line coming off the bomb, " Wy llie commen ted . " I just rode my own race, and it worked o ut pretty we ll. T his was a rea lly fast course, which isn't my favo rite type, but I rod e well."
