Sixteen-year-old C hance W ylli e is one of
D ist r ict 37's yo un g gun s working h is wa y up
through th e ran ks. This is Wy llie 's first year of
racing. and he has been a force to be reckoned
wi t h in t he 0 ·200cc Nov ice d ivision . The
Shamrocks' Desert Scramble s was Wyllie's last
eve nt as a Novice , and he made it one to
re me mber. Despite a "n o t so good start,"
according to Wy llie , he was ru nning about 20th
o ve rall w hen the bomb funneled o nto the
racecou rs e, and h e had picked off
approx imately 14 competitors when he came
into the pits.
" I just didn't have a good line coming off the
bomb, " Wy llie commen ted . " I just rode my
own race, and it worked o ut pretty we ll. T his
was a rea lly fast course, which isn't my favo rite
type, but I rod e well."

was the fo u r t h N o v ice overall to t a ke th e
checke rs on his Rob Kyker Citrus/Mom-backed
KTM and first in the 0-200cc No vice division .
