until Scooter finally opened up a little breathing roo m en rou te to the win. Tim Ricketts Jr. had to ride hard to hold off Nick O hge for third . Vince Holt too k the holes hot in the Over 40 mai n, with Allen "Ge rito l" Morinville clo se behind . After poor starts, Trey "O ochy" Gooch and Steve " Elect ric" Power we re co ming up through the pack . Go o ch even tually took second and Power took third, but despite their best efforts , Holt cruised to the w in. Travis O hge wa s fast on the trigger as he shot into the lead of the Mad Dog main. Alex "Be rgy" Bergman held second early on, but the pain of a broken wrist was too much and he surr e nde re d second to Garrett Lindeman . By that time , Ohge was long gone, and Lindeman had to se ttle for second. Whe n the mighty Twins left the line , Todd "Racy" Tracy was in the lead, with Gary Beach a close seco nd . Lap afte r lap, Beach tried inside and outside, but he just co uldn't make a pass stic k. Tracy made zero mistakes and held off Beach by two bikelengths to take the win. Greg Cox finished third and Steve Barker was fourt h. Aft er surreri ng d ef e at a t t he hands o f newcomer Wyatt "Ear p" Anderson t he night before , Noah "Cream Soda" Miller was o ut for reve nge in the 65cc DTX class. Miller squirted into the lead and never looked back. The tw o stay ed glued toge the r all the wa y aro und the t rack! Anderson gave it all he had , but Miller was not to be denied. The races this weekend were a benefit for Richard Clark, who was seriously injured at th is eve nt o ne year ago . As Clark contin ues t o recover, the Mount St. Helens Moto rcycle Club and all who atte nded wish him and his family all the best. Although the morn ing pre sented both racers a nd sp e ct at o rs with muddy c on diti ons uncha racteristic of Colo rado ra cing, it was a challenging, e xciting and fun event. Con ce rns abo ut mud in the afte rnoon's race program with th e smaller bikes (and riders) d iminished w he n t he sun bu rn ed its way t hro ugh t he cloud s and started to dry things up a bit.
