The wins d idn't come easily fo r Oswald , as a grou p of five ride rs stayed close to the leader th roughout the five-lap event. Most of the rea l action took place in the batt le for second, w it h several changes occurring, bu t once the checkers flew in both 12·15 motos, it was justin Morgan earning second. Oswald had close company in both the Open motos as we ll, as Kris Armbrister shadowed his every move . Armbrister went on to earn a win in the 250cc Novice class by keep ing Mark Andersen beh ind him in both races . Former supercross champion Willie Surratt continued his dominance over the Vet riders by winning the overall and Vet Expert Over 30 honors . Anothe r Armbrister took a class win, as Marc we nt 1-3 in the Ove r 40 Novice class. Gert Van Phee we nt 2-2 for second overall , ahead of moto- one winner Graig Hamilton. In the Vet Over 40 Int ermed iate co ntest, Ken Lurcook took the win from an e ver-charging T.e. Brinegar. Dakota Garner again sco red ru nawa y wins in the a5cc Inte rmed iate and Supermini eve nts. Garner had com pany from Gage Dyke in moto one, and the n Everett Holcomb pressured him in moto two, but Garner was able to fend off the ir advances. Dyke went 2-3 for second, over Holcomb' s 4-2 effort. Holcomb late r came out and wo n t he 85cc (7- 11) even t after placing second to Garn er in moto one . Garn er crossed over seco nd in moto tw o to ho ld o n to t he sec o n d~overall spot, with Garret jackson going 4-3 for third. Everett's sister Alycia Holcom b took repeat wins in the Women's 1 2 5 cc ~ and -Up class. Chris Cuero took charge of the 65cc O pen class, and then he took re peat wins in the 65cc (9- 1I) class. Cue ro found new competition, in the form of Der ik Broo ks in both eve nts. jantz Grodzicki earned dou ble-class wins in the Pee Wee (7-8) Stock and Modified divisions. Grodzicki held off Desmond Spears in the Stock event and then kep t johnny O'Brien in check in the Modified class.
