laps wound down, Brown closed up on Wood, but it was too little, too late. Wood scored the win, with Brown second and Sam third. Jethro was fourth , with Anderson fifth. "It was good, " Wood said. "I started right on the groove, and Carlotta got a good start. I got a good run around him [Carlotta) and got almost all the way up by him gain' into three, and the thing started shakin' its head, and I thought I was done . So I just ran it around the corner a little faster and managed to pull a gap. My Maxxis tire came in really good about halfway, and I just rode it home." Brown said that he felt things were pretty sketchy at the beginning o f the race . "Eve rybody was going everywhere, and it was dusty," Brown said. "Everybody then got in a line, and we started racing - me, Sam, Kenny and Ryan Anderson. We all wo rked each other over and were passing. Finally, they made a few mistakes, and I kept it cool right where I was." Holeshot honors again went to Hocking at the start of the Vintage A main even t. Brad, Steve Hall and Robert Hansen followed . At the halfway flag, Brad started to close up on Hocking, and it looked like it would be a race . No worries for "T he Hock," though , as he wheelied his way to the checkered flag. Brad would finish second. Hansen tried a move on Hall for the last pod ium spot but came up short. Gordon Ginno rounded out the top five. "Weathe r was too hot , to start off with, but It sta rted working out, and we made som e changes ," Hoc king said. "The main eve nt , we we re killer - it came around. The bike's running good. We had a smooth night. As long as I kee p Spencer behind me , we' re running real smooth." The Top Gun 4S0cc main saw Bradley Spencer fastest to the first turn, with Anthony DeMario close behind him. As they hit the apex of turns three and four, DeMario got off hard , leaving the whole pack with nowhere to go. Luckily, everyone was safe and lined up for the complete restart. Start two saw Bradley again first off the line, with DeMario second . This time Bradley took them to school and stretched out a big lead. Steve Hill's pressure paid off, as he got around DeMario for second . Rick Delong worked his way up to fourth , with Jermaine Bacosa fifth. "I got an awesome start," Bradley said. "I tried to stay really smooth throughout the night, and that's what ended up with the win." eN , 1 7 " T H WEDNESDAY, 8 /1 IAdrn- S80/per800 - TluaIFrVSet/Su'l tlCtIet. No Refu"Id .
