Ki ng City Dir' Riders Hillclimb Crazy Jake and Jenner Jam at King City Hillclimb By BUD NORTHRUP MOUNT VERNON, IL, JUNE 6 att Peters was the Fast Time award winner at Saturday night's King City Dirt Riders hillclimb, and he nea rly duplicated that feat on Sunday, w ith a 3.77 B-seco nd 450cc-c1assw inning time on his first ride on his KTM 380, but he was beaten twice by riders in the 600cc class in second -round action. First, Cody jenner flew his CRSOO over the top in 3.760 seconds to take the lead briefly, but then "C razy Jake" Tackitt , riding the Revloc Honda, sailed high over the rim in a blistering 3.722 seconds to ta ke the class win and t he Fast Time - $100, plus the big trophy. Tackitt had "inherited" the Gayle Jenkins-owned CRSOO from Brent Bow man, who had ridden it to the 60Occ-c1ass win the night befo re but had cras hed hard on his se co nd ride and injured himself and so co uld not ride on Sunday. jenner, howeve r, st ill cam e out a ma jor w inne r, as he blast ed ove r th e hill in 3.737 seconds to take the win in the King Of The Hill one-run shootout for the 10 fastes t riders of the day. Peters was second wit h a 3.763-second run, and Tackitt was third with a 3.84 l-second time . jenner picked up $50 in prize money plus a nice tr op hy pr ovided by Kaleb Northrup and Kingofth ehill.org .
