The lineup for the Hand icap main was bizarre. to say the least. Two riders were on the 30·yard line. Northro p and Harmatiuk. T he rest of the field lined up on the 40: Schwartz, Shawn "Mad Dog" McConne ll, Far ia. Ca stro, Manchester and Ven egas. Northrop won the race to the first turn , ove r Harma tiuk, and Northrup is te nacious when he gets the lead . Harmatiuk held o n for four laps before he fell by the wayside. Pleasure Riders Hillclimb Tackitt Doubles His Pleasure By BUD NORTHRUP CAYUGA, IN, MAY 22 S o me 141 en tran ts rode the Pleasure Riders ' ISO-foo t hill on Saturday night, May 22 , with "C razy jake " Tackitt taking the Fast Time awa rd for the second time in the young season. Riding the Revloc CRSOO built by Gayle jenkins, Tackitt was the on ly rider to brea k into the three-second range with a 3.999-second effort on his first ride. His closest challenge r in the 600cc class was Josh Denso n, riding a Revloc KXS40, who turned a 4.20S-sec ond time to take second place . Tackitt's closest challenge r fo r the Fast Time award came fro m the Ope n class, where jason Northru p flew his big "YZ 1220F" Yamaha over the to p in 4.178 seconds for that class win . Both Tackitt and Northrup were dou ble-class winners; Tackitt won the 200cc class o n his 1985 KDX20 0, and Northrup took his fourth consecutive win in the 750c( class o n his Kawasaki tr iple in 4.280 seconds. Daryl Johnson took second in the 7SOcc class w ith a good 4.S7 1-second run on his classic BSA. Jared McKay w as also a doub le winner. His first win came in the 2S0cc class, where he stopped the cloc k in 4.292 seco nds on his clas sy YZ 2S0. Mark Schroede r, riding his stock-length YZ 2S0, claimed second with a 4.34S-second run .
