RESULTS The best racing of the day at round two of the ESE Holeshot Series came in the Over 40 Expert class, in which Bruce Frey (2 51) held off Otto Geisendorff (21 B) for the overall win. Rain throughout the week had thoroughly soaked the new ly reno vated day track, making for so m e d ifficult mo t o s. Ho ust o n Yamaha Motorsports' Michael Royal had no problems w ith the track con ditions en rout e to a clean sweep in the 125cc Inter med iate and 125cc O pe n classes . The League City native used his expe r ie nce t o o v erw helm t he com petit ion , posting times tha t were co mparable to those of the Expe rts . EBR' s A nd rew Pie rc e claimed t he to p podium spot in bot h the 5 Icc (7-8) and Super Modified Pee Wee classes aboard a KTM . Kevi n Rios did likewise in the 6Scc (10- 1I) class and too k a third in the O pen contest, giving him the series lead in bo t h classes. Kawasaki-mo unted Ashton Thielke took the top spot on the 6Scc Open po dium. Justin Pool finished first in the 85cc ( 12- 13) and the Senior Supermini classes and also ho lds t he se rie s lead in bot h classe s. Yamaha rider Stuart Wilso n was an easy winner in the 85cc ( 14 - 15) class . Ga s 8 rot hers Racing's Brad Cykala earned his first to p po dium spot in the 125cc Beginne r division. Randy Laird powered his Suzuki four-stro ke to second plac e in th e 125 cc N ovice class , puttin g himself in the series lea d. In the 125cc Int e r me d iate cla ss, High lands Kawasa ki pilot John Fikar is finished third, beh ind Royal a nd Danie l Gar rett, and moved into the series lead. Fikar is also finished se con d in the School boy class and mo ved into the lea d in that class for the se ries. JM Racing's Cody Stark too k the overall in the Schoolboy class. Honda-mounted Colt Stephens contin ued his dominance of the 250cc O pe n class by going I- I to keep his series lead, and the n he w e nt out and too k second in the Fo ur-Stro ke Open P/W JR XR : I.
