Starwest Cycle Park: Robert Franco won both 85cc Novice motos and the class overall in Moreno Valley, California. made his pass on Lopez down the long straight of whoops and set his sights on Gritten. Franco then proceeded to pick up speed and pass Grillen down the back straight. Franco looked like a natural in the lead position, and he was able to gain a good lead. Franco took the checkered flag first, followed by Grillen and Lopez. Lopez nailed the second-moto holeshot, followed by Franco and Gritten. Lopez was able to keep the lead for a lap before Franco found his way around in the tum to take the lead. Franco again took the win, and with it the overall, followed by Lopez and Grillen. Mariana Harding made the girls proud by holding her own against a gate full of 85cc Starters. Although Harding was riding alone in the Women's division, she had a lot of boys to compete against. Harding was impressive, as she was able to jump her way around the track, passing many riders along the way. Mariana's brother Isaac was also impressive as he took two moto wins in the 8scc Starter class. Cory McDonald took his Cobra to the overall win in the 50cc (7-8) division despite some tough competition from Caiden Mata. In the first moto. Brandon Scharer pulled the holeshot, followed by Mata and McDonald. Scharer pulled away while McDonald stayed closed to Mata, waiting for his chance to make the pass. McDonald's chance came early, when Mata went down in the turn; McDonald took over the second-place position. Scharer lJew in for the win, followed by McDonald and Mata. Scharer was unable to make the second moto, and McDonald took over for his Cobra teammate, McDonald pulled the holeshot and managed to hold off a fast-charging Mata lap after lap for the moto win and the overall.
