6 JEREMY MARTIN
1ST (3-2) 250MX
"Honestly, the track was gnarly. It
rained again on the start line and I
thought, 'Oh boy here we go,'" said
250MX winner Jeremy Mar n. "For-
tunately, it held off and I got a good
start. The track was in good shape
[considering the rain] and we were
able to make passes around people,
which helped. That was a nail biter [at
the end]. My [bike] was smoking, but
thankfully the engine is bulletproof.
I did all I could to save it, and I'm just
so relieved it made it [to the finish]. I
didn't expect to get my first win [since
coming back from injury] so soon, but
we're definitely going to celebrate."
51 JUSTIN BARCIA
7TH (1-32) 450MX
"We had a great day going," said
first-moto winner Jus n Barcia. "I got
the holeshot in the first moto and
checked out to over a minute lead at
one point. I won the race by a lot. It
was a really good race. I felt awesome
and everything was working well. The
track condi ons were brutal, it was
super difficult. In the second moto,
I had a li le crash, so I had to pull
in and get some fresh goggles. I was
pu ng on a good charge un l we
had an issue with the bike which was
definitely a bummer."
