IIIMY OWN RACE:
20 BROC TICKLE
4TH (2-9) 450MX
"[This race] was a huge step in the right
direc on for me," said Broc Tickle. "The
track condi ons were really, really
gnarly. The condi ons in the second
moto got a li le be er, but it was tough
out there in both motos. I'm stoked
with the progress we made throughout
the day and during the week with the
team. I'm ge ng more comfortable on
the bike and learning what I like about
it and what I need to do to make it
more comfortable for myself."
24 RJ HAMPSHIRE
6TH (1-18) 250MX
"It was a brutal track today, but I was
pumped to hold on in moto one to get
my first moto-win with the team," RJ
Hampshire said. "A er going down
in the first turn, I put on a charge
and climbed as much as I could, but
the bike ended up le ng go with a
lap and a half to go. It's not the final
result we wanted, but I'm looking for-
ward to ba ling up front some more
this season."
In 250MX, we saw two different moto
winners—RJ Hampshire and Alex Martin—but
it was the younger of the Martin brothers,
Jeremy, coming away with the overall victory
with 3-2 results on his Geico Honda. The win
came in just his second outdoor race back
since his back injury in 2018.
But another winner in the class was Dylan
Ferrandis who rode a smart race in the
miserable conditions. While many riders
over-stressed their motorcycles in the mud,
Ferrandis took it easy on his Monster Energy/
Star Racing Yamaha and managed his motos
well, going a safe 2-4 for second overall and
maintaining his championship lead, though
Martin did take a small bite out of it. Martin
now trails Ferrandis by six points. Ferrandis
had an eight-point lead going into the day
over first-moto winner RJ Hampshire, who
blew up his bike in moto two while trying to
come back from a 30th-place start.

(Above left) What is the best way
to wash off the mud after a race?
With champagne, of course! Podium
finishers Adam Cianciarulo and Marvin
Musquin give winner Zach Osborne
a deserving rinse after the second
moto. (Left) Osborne's Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna team of mechanics
frantically work on Osborne's bike
that failed to start for the first and only
450MX A-group practice/qualifying
session. He didn't make it. By the time
they figured what the problem was, the
450MX A Group qualifying had already
concluded. Officials, however, allowed
him to participate in the B Group so
he could get in at least one lap of
qualifying, which is a requirement to
race in the main events. Osborne ended
up qualifying 10th. He also overcame
various hurdles in both motos before he
could claim the overall win.
