IIIMY OWN RACE: 117 STILEZ ROBERTSON 8TH (12-7) 250MX "Overall, it was a pre y good day, but it was brutal out there, probably the muddiest track I've ever ridden," pro rookie S lez Robertson said. "The first moto I made too many mistakes and had too many li le p-overs. The second moto, I rode pre y good—I didn't make that many mistakes, stayed on two wheels and kept my bike running." 103 MAX ANSTIE 5TH (15-3) 450MX "I felt good, and one of these lappers was just coming completely across the track at me," Max Ans e said of the second moto. "So, I had to stop. That was a shame because Zach got by me. I was fast in the sand near the finish, that was my spot to set Zach back up near the finish, but Marv came out of nowhere and messed up my plan! But I was like, okay, it was good for the team to lead some laps and get on the [moto two] podium." MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2 / AUGUST 22, 2020 LORETTA LYNN RANCH / HURRICANE MILLS, TENNESSEE P60 MAD MAX Englishman Max Anstie finally got the chance to show what he's capable of. The former MXGP rider got a late start to the 2020 season after injuring his Achilles tendon. This was just his second race back and was still feeling the injury in the first moto. "First moto, I got out and I wasn't too bad, and I was in eight or something. That first moto was really, really tough for my foot, when you're dragging your legs everywhere, I hadn't done that, I was quite nervous. The second moto I pulled the holeshot, the bike worked [well], I kept a relatively good flow, I kept my goggles clean, and my bike didn't get too hot. I felt good." In all, he led 11 laps of the second moto. Briefly... (Above) Adam Cianciarulo joked before the race that he was tired of crashing and was going to "go slow" just to finish. His plan worked. It got him on the podium (second overall) for the first time with a 3-5. (Above right) Englishman Max Anstie (103), who is no stranger to the mud, nearly gave his Twisted Tea/HEP Motorsports Suzuki team a moto win in the second race. He led most of it until a lapped rider blocked his line and Zach Osborne swooped by. Shortly after, Anstie also got passed by Marvin Musquin and ended up third in the moto and fifth overall (13-3). Musquin went on to pressure Osborne for the second moto win and overall victory but came up just short. He ended up third overall with an 8-2.
