real cowboys came in to ride some real bulls.
The White Buffalo Rodeo Production crew put
on an exciting competition, entertaining rodeo
and race fans alike. Then it was time for the
motorcycle barrel races to determine the win·
ners of the shootout. After all the riders had
completed their tums, a Sturgis-bound cowboy rode his Harley into the ring and around
the barrels. He didn't post a very good time
but the crowd was definitely entertained. After
the scores of the two events were combined, it
was Ben Brommel winning the Youth class
and Adam Smith posting the best scores out
of the adults.
The second day was a District 22 points
race. One of the local Des Moines 1V stations
was also present, covering the race. Brandon
Hagedorn had another good day, gelling first
in the 250cc A class and second in the very
competitive 125cc A class. Chad Simonton
looked very fast while winning the first 125cc
A moto, but after a first-lap crash in the second moto, he was only able to get back up to
fourth, netting third overall. Randy Hansen got
the second-moto win, which was just enough
to get him the overall victory.
