A soaking rain the afternoon before the race left the track moist and tacky for the 144 riders in attendance. Boutwell absconded with the holeshot in the first Supermini moto on his Yamaha while Ragsdale was pushed off the track coming around turn one. The Kawasaki jockey calmly re-entered the course just inside the top 10. Cutting corners tight. Ragsdale moved to second on lap one, and then closed on Boutwell. After grabbing the start and running strong in the early going of the first Over 40/Yet moto, Florida Motor Sports rider Jason Swain lost the gear shifter on his KTM and was forced to finish the race in fourth gear. More than 300 riders turned out to enjoy the wellprepared course. Thanks to recent rain and race-day cloud cover, the racing was dust-free in all 31 classes. The track's direction was reversed from the clockwise direction used at previous GPG events here, putting local riders and newcomers on more of an equal footing. The Capitol Cycle/ DKR/NuTech/Old School Racingbacked rider outdistanced the competition en route to perfect scores in the 125cc and 250cc A classes. The day's racing produced remarkably few double-class winners. but Kyle Clark made sure that he was one of them. Clark's method was flawless, and he took all four moto wins in the 50cc (4-6) and 50cc Shaft-Drive divisions. Runner-up Max Tannenbaum kept the pressure on Clark all day in the Shaft-Drive class. Kart Johnson also came away with double gold after he powered his KTM to the wins in both the 60cc (7 -9) and 60cc Preteen classes.
