At the checkers, Nelson took the win, while Miller put in one of his best efforts for second, followed by Morrison. "I really wanted to win that one," Miller later said. "I felt good out there in that moto and really thought I had a chance of winning that one, but Nelson's fast and I can't complain about taking-~econdto him." The Schoolboy class was a plete disaster for Morrison, as he crashed hard in moto one while trying to chase down Nelson for the lead and then suffered a mechanical DNF in moto two while leading Nelson. On the other hand, Nelson simply walked away with both moto wins and even gave the crowd a show, with some aerial tricks. Tony Sherman put in a good effort and walked away with second overall via a 3-2 score, and Anthony Maniglia ended up third on the day with a 5-3 tally. In 250cc Intermediate action, Miller couldn't be touched, as he simply smoked the field en route to a pair of back-to-back, wire-to-wire victories. Honda-mounted Corey Murphy got the nod for second overall on the day after a good first-moto battle with Joey Rodriguez. While Rodriguez ended up beating Murphy for second, Murphy rebounded in moto two with a strong second of his own. Rodriguez rounded out the top three with a 2-4 score. eN = o.tfield bceway Jurl_ California Ilesults: Nnenober 4, 20Dl UllllInd 4) Pee Wee Track 50 (4-6) P/W JR: 1. Gunner Sigler (Yam); 2. Nearly 300 riders showed up on a warm, sunny day for a great day of racing, and the Podium One crew had the track in excellent condition. Scott Craven dominated the 125cc A and 250cc A classes on his Suspension Works/S&S Powers ports Suzukis, easily taking all four moto wins. Larry "Slug go" Gessner took the holeshot on a Podium One/Cycle Shed KTM in the first 250cc A moto, in front of Paul's Cycle Yamaha's T.J. Blake, and Craven. On lap one, Craven moved into the lead, with Gessner a close second, in front of Blake. Jason Schmidt held fourth on a KTM, in front of Terry Coby, on a Coby's Cycle Honda. The running order stayed the same throughout the rest of the moto. Craven nailed the holeshot in the second moto, in front of Gessner and Blake, for the wire-to-wire win. Blake passed Gessner on the first lap for second, but Gessner kept the pressure on Blake for the entire moto. Craven got the overall and Blake' (3-2) took second, in front of Gessner (2-3). Schmidt (4-4) claimed fourth, in front of Coby. Doug Gall took the holeshot in the first 125cc A moto on a Performance Powersports/F&S Suzuki, in front of Craven and then Matt Richey on a Suspension Plus/Flashes Suzuki.
