front, leading BR/Pro-X/Motohead-backed Clay Cutler, Allred's Fence hotshoe Jeremy Allred, and FMF/Spy-sponsored speedster Brodie Humphries to the first turn. The Careys/MSR-backed Butterfield ace was picking off riders, fighting his way up into second place. Greenhalgh had his Kawasaki on the pipe out in front. and no one was catching him this moto. He ran off with the win, beating Butterfield, Cutler and Allred. Butterfield popped the holeshot in race two, just ahead of Humphries and Allred. Greenhalgh was leapfrogging through the pack, earning second by lap's end. However, Butterfield turned the tables on Greenhalgh by staying hot and out in front. Greenhalgh kept commzmd of second, while everyone else was struggling to hoid on to their positions. Butterfield scored the second·stanza win, taking home the eocc (7-11) trophy. Greenhalgh styled to a solid second overall, ahead of Ailred and Cutler. In the 125cc Junior class, newly minted 125cc hotshoe Devin Suilivan absconded with the holeshot to start race one, leading Alba Plastering's Steven Alba, Backstreet Boutiquesponsored Willey Peterson and the rest of the day's biggest field out into battle. The Pro Cycle/Fox-backed Sullivan pulled a quick lead, but the battle for second between Alba and Peterson was tight - and it stayed tight for most of the race. While Sullivan checked out, Peterson finally fought his way past Alba for second. HOl\da-mounted Austin Cailoway won his personal war with Almond Racing's Lyle Almond to storm home in fourth . Alba blasted out in front of race two, leading Cailoway, Sullivan and the rest of the pack. Sullivan was on the gas, passing for second and then stuffing his KTM past Alba for the lead in the sweeper after the big tabletop. Alba hung on to second as Peterson was working his way up from a mediocre start. Suilivan romped home with another big win, capturing the 125cc Junior crown. Alba finished a strong second, which netted him second overail, ahead of Peterson, Cailoway and Almond. step-on/step-off rhythm section. After the pair came over the triple. Hansen railed the outside of the comer to pass Wheeler once again. As they approached the whoops, Wheeler stuffed Hansen in the comer before the whoops to take the lead - but it was to no avail, as Hansen blitzed the whoops and stuffed him back for the lead in the next corner. After swapping the lead with Wheeler several times, it appeared that Hansen had had enough of going back and forth with Wheeler, as he quickly extended his lead to three seconds. Meanwhile, Morgan was in a lonely third, with Jared Carlson and Trent Hansen battling for fourth beh;nd him. With two laps to go, Carlson found his way around Hansen and then focused his sights on Morgan. As the checkered flag flew, Hansen had the win in the can, cruising in easily with a nine-second lead over Wheeler, in second. Time ran out for Carlson, as he was only able to get close enough to Morgan to take away third place. R.sults ~ NOV: I. Joke Jocobs (Pol): 2. Mkhael Riner (Pot); 3. Payton MuOl)' (Hon); 4. The seventh round of the Arkansas Hare Scramble Series was held on 700 acres of privately owned land located on the Mulberry River in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. This was a grellt place to have a race, with electric hookups, showers, water and swimming facilities. The evening before the event, all racers were treated to a free cookout. Due to the dry summer weather in Arkansas; the trail was really dry and dusty. A water truck was on hand to water down the camp area and the start of the rllce. Razorback Rider Club member Zahn Lewis and John Welch laid out the 10-mile course. The Razorback Club is located in northwest Arkansas, and it has grown so much in membership recently that the club has recently purchased 40 acres near the Ozark National Forest, where they will hold their BJEC event and a hare scrambles. A good number of riders showed up to race, in spite of the dog days of the summer. The event started with the Pro riders. Clay Boreing of Magnolia, Arkansas, got the holeshot into the first tum, followed by Chris Andrews and Josh Weisenfels. At the first checkpoint, the first Pro rider to come through was Boreing, followed by Weisenfels, Johnny Rhodes and Andrews, but Andrews was out of the race by the second lap. Weisenfels managed to blow a comer, landing in a boggedout mud pit, and it took 10 men and an ATV to pull him out. Boreing was able to keep the lead for a couple of laps, but due to a previous wrist injury and the track conditions, he dropped back to second place. Johnny Rhodes had no problem taking over the lead, with Boreing giving chase, followed by Eli Johnson in third. Rhodes built a huge lead and was able to maintain it to the end of the event. This victory made it three in a row for Rhodes. Results M EX: I. JohfYly Rhodes; 2. Clay B«mg; 3. Ell Johnson: 4. Jeff Lemay; S. Oint CelT, A OPEN: l. Oint Woods; 2. MIke Snook; 3. Adam Bielchke; 4.
