•••• CAN YOO Arrowhead Speedway. "Flyin'" Ryan Fisher won the Scratch main event - again - In San Bernardino. California. h~ was also h~ad~d for the main. Dukie Ermolenko and Mark Adams were third and fourth and on their way to the Consi - which was won by Ermolenko. The guys rolled out for the Scratch main. and the draw for position W8S done on the Hne. Fisher got an early birthday present, as he drew the pole. Schwartz was in two. with Brant in three and Castro in four. They loaded in. revved the motors lind Castro got too anxious and got into the tapes; his race was over and he headed for the pits. They li~d up again. and this time they all got away clean. but it was Fisher who got away fastest. and he was moving. Schwartz was out second, with Brant putting on the pressure. It was no contest for first, as that was all Fisher's. It was close for second, though, with the nod going to Schwartz. Rudy Laurer lined up on the zero for the Handicap main. Shaun Harmatiuk was on the 10. Charlie Cooley was alone on the 20. Brant had the 40 to himself, and Ermolenko was alone on the 50. The long yardage went to Fisher, who started from the 215 Freeway (on the 60). Laurer held on for two laps before Brant came and took the lead. They were two laps in when Harmatiuk, Fisher and Ermolenko all got very up close 8nd personal in tum four. The red came out; they did a body inventory, and all were able to restart. Again. Laurer was good for two, and again it was Brant who ran him down. Laurer held on for two more laps before Ermolenko got through as the white flag came out. By then, Brant had such a I~ad that Ermolenko had to settle for second. Laurer was third, with Cooley and Harmatiuk rounding out the field. Rick Valdez put it all together to win the Division Two rNlIin. It has been a tough road for him, and this victory had to make him feel good. Tomasz Hampel and Frank Pecce were second and third. Division Two B honors went to Steve Nelson. who topped Jeremiah leBlanc and the young lady from New Zealand, Kim Stevens. Results SCI< I. Ry.. """" I.....); 2. """" e-o I.....); 3. S I. S
