The battle for second overall ended in a three-way tie. World of nighttime race must have sounded good to many ROTMX riders, and it was one of the very best turnouts of the year with 61 eager I racers. Joe Crouch slipped his Kawasaki into a winning gear early on and blazed ahead of all the other Master B racers. Things didn't change at the end, and he aced both finishes. An always-fast Steve Donaldson wasn't too far behind, and he collected second place. Johnson kept up the juice and beat them all to the checkers. Willenborg raced in with second, and Greg Williams and Mark Melnyk powered in with third and fourth. Willenborg got the holeshot and the lead in moto two and ruled supremely for a lap, but once again Johnson muscled past and kept the power on for another first. Williams quickly moved up from a midpack start and ended with a second-place standing, leaving third for Willenborg. Mark Speck wrapped up fourth. In the Amateur Over 40 contest, Jim Williams started out with the lead and led for two laps. Then Suzuki jockey John Timmermans swept by. Timmermans' lead was for keeps, and victory was hjs. Jim hung on for second, and a fast Tom Conrad cinched third. Despite Timmermans' relentless pursuit of Williams in moto two, Williams skillfully managed to hold him off and score the big win, leaving Timmermans with second and Conrad with another third. In Amateur Over 50 competition, Honda pilot Ron Tuzinsky was first-rate. He led from start to finish in both motos for first overall. Sam English put together two fast-paced motos, and that was just the ticket for his second-overall finish. Steve Alexander was fast enough to capture third in mota one, and Skeeter McMuny did it the second time out. Eric Alloy led 12 other Novices around the track until Joe Osteen charged past on his 500cc Kawasaki. Osteen hurriedly sped on until an even faster Robert Hubbard look over and wrapped up the win, with Osteen second and Alloy third. Moto two was more to Osteen's liking, as he outran all of them to the finish, leaving Hubbard in second and Alloy completing the podium. Results NOV; 1. Joe Ost~~n (KllW): 2. The weather was good for racing - not too hot. The 60cc AlB class featured a duel between Kawasaki jockey Chad Cose and KTM-mounted Anthony Fong. When the green flag came down for the 80cc AlB race, the red flag followed immediately, as Kawasaki jockey Joseph Hemandez jumped the line.
