Eric Gra y had dom inated th e lead throughou t the entire eight -la p ra ce in an all -out three -wa y battle with fello w Florid ians Ma cias and Da vid McIn tyre, but it was Macias who held the adva ntage at the line to snag his first "Shooto ut" win. R- ) p ilo t Gray nabbed the lead early on the first lap . Jere my Barker, Pat Weekl ey, Mcintyre and Andre Van Dyke were in hot pursu it, but, by the en d o f the n ext la p , some se riou s passing put Mcintyre's GSX-R750 in second, with Macias , Pat Moon ey S r. a nd Ted Co bb close behind. On lap three, the top three broke awa y from the re st of the pack in an all -o ut fight for the win . G ray won the Midd lewei ght Gr and Pr ix, GTU a nd Middleweight Sup erbike races and finish ed s econd in Un lim ited Supersport. Another Florid a rider, Bob Fisher, walked away from the weekend with the greatest number of Ex pert victo ries. He won a to ta l of four rac es , finishing first in GT Ligh ts , Heavyweight S po rtsma n, Lightweight Sup e rb ik e and Ligh twei ght S up ersport. All of the passing action was go ing on beh in d h im , e specia lly in the fight for third place between J ohn Long and Leo Venega . Fishe r cr ossed the finish line ahead of Perry . After a grueling eight la ps , Long had maneu ve red his m a ch ine ahe a d of Ve neg a . Steve Bold en finished fifth . Fisher was out front ea rly a ga in in the Ligh tweight Superbi ke race, but he dropped back to th ird p lac e on lap two. By la p th re e he wa s back in th e le ad , a nd the race turned into a th reerider battl e for first pla c e between hi mself , Jo h n Lin d er and Galias . Ha lfway through th e race , more posi tion swa pp ing p ut Galias in second p la c e . On t he next la p , Perry h ad moved up into the c hase. Again , Fisher nabbed and held on to an early le ad. Th ere wa s plenty of passing a cti on a nd fre quent position swapping in this ra c e a s well, but Fisher finished well ahead of the others , with out ch a lle nge. Perry fi nish ed second, ahea d of Ga lias, Lind er and Keesee. Con ice lli not only won a ll three of th e events he ran , he finished far ahead of everybo dy else during the GTO , Unlimited S upers poit and Heavyweight Superbike ra ces. Amateur Giovann i Roja s was not only another runawa y winne r, he was the weekend's biggest winner, with a total of seven first-place finishes . He won the Midd lewe ight Grand Prix , GTU , Unlim ite d Supersport, Heavy weigh t Su perb ike , Middleweight S upersport, Heavyweight Supersport and Middleweig ht Superbike events.
