soon put his Honda out front, and Weems settled into second. Arkansas riders Justin Mason and Taryn Covington were third and fourth. Mason soon took his Kawasaki past Weems in the tight corner after the supercross area. As the leaders flew by the tower, Mason continued to pressure Bunn for the lead. Coming out of the whoop-infested wooded area, Mason was in the lead and stretching it out. Meanwhile, Covington dropped her Yamaha in some ruts and fell back to about 10th. A good dice between Milam's Kawasaki-mounted Jeremy Holland, Kolby Morgan and Chris Shelton pulled them close to the leader. Shelton slid out in a slick corner and dropped from contention. Covington charged up to the lead riders. Morgan, Holland and Covington were soon waging their own battle for third. Brian Brunson began to charge from the back of the pack; he would eventually settle for sixth. Covington passed HoIland for fifth. Morgan went down and Covington took over fourth and held it to the checkers, where the race ended with Mason winning, followed by Bunn, Weems, Covington and Holland. Moto two was a Mason benefit, as he took over first place early on the first lap and never looked back. Bunn again nailed down second, followed by Weems and Trent Bedwell, who recovered from a bad start. Covington soldiered into fifth with a knee injury sustained in a starting-line crash in the Open class. The 125cc Novice class had 17 riders charging into the right-hand first turn. Kawasaki-mounted c.J. Harris took the holeshot and never looked back. Michael Uveges was second but dropped his Honda early on the first lap and eventually ended up 10th. John Lea went down early on the first lap and remounted next to last. Meanwhile, Brian Nunes pushed his Malibu MX-backed Suzuki past Honda-mounted Clayton Blair and Yamaha rider Blake Allen. Further back, a hard-charging Lea moved into seventh. Blair and Nunes battled over third, trading places throughout the race. Lea passed Ryan Hartley over the big tabletop. Yamaha YZ250F pilot Luke Gorrell passed Blair and put pressure on Nunes for third. The pressure was too much for Nunes, as Gorrell was on the gas.
