presents start, Don Mullen started rolling during the middle laps, moving up to Miller and then taking second before the final lap. Tom McGrane Jr., on his Diem's Cycle/Rizzon's Cycle/Paradise Truck £, Tire-sponsored Rotax, grabbed the lead from last year's 600cc Pro winner, Mike Varnes, with Kevin Varnes, Don Mullen and Rick Winsett trailing. The race was restarted on the third lap after Phil Libhart fell, but the order stayed the same. Kevin Varnes dropped out on the fourth lap, while the fight for second let McGrane put a little distance on that battle. Price and Jake Johnson worked their way through the field, coming up behind the Varnes/Mullen battle for second by halfway. From there on, the order stayed the same. A pair of riders repeated their wins from last year. Frank Lettieri took the 50cc (7-8) victory after winning the Oil-Injected contest last year, while John Lewis took the 85cc (12-15) class after destroying the 85cc (7 -11) class throughout last season on his ABBA Systems/Bromley's SuzukiKTM-sponsored Yamaha. In 50cc (4-6) competition, Bailey Spence won the Oil-Injected class and Joey Peters was victorious in the regular 50cc (4-6) class. Andrew Benson took the 50cc Oil-Injected (78) group, Sean Hackley won the 65cc class, and Austin Greenland made his first start on an 85cc a winning one in the 85cc (7-11) class. Richard Leonard continued the main theme of the night - grab the lead right away, hold the inside line and don't screw up - to take the 125cc B final. Jason Palmer took the 250cc B lead at the end of the opening lap and just held off Richard Morrow for the win. Bill Boram topped the 600cc B class. eN Toyota Official Truck of Glen Helen Raceway hrs III~I~ ~r f)l~ nTH March 25, 2001 i\NN(Ji\I~ Classes: r rl'l~l')1 -Beg/Nov, Exp/Am, Sr. Vet-Beg/Nov, Sr. Vet-Exp/Am -Family Team-ID required -Business Team-Show business card -High School Team-Show ASB card 1~~I)'Jlll'~(~I~ Ill'(~I~ Rules: 8:30am to 2:30pm 1 to 3 man teams -2 bikes per team- 1 in impound, the other on the track -Unlimited pit stops and rider changes -Unscheduled water breaks -1 vehicle per team in pit row -Teams may begin pit set-up Sat.
