AMA Florida Winter Series Round 4: Thunder Cross Motorsports Park McGourty Masters Okeechobee By lowed by Jason Baker, Dan Truman, McGourty and Drew Kain. Stewart was fast, gaining four seconds per lap. The fight was for second, between Truman, McGourty and Kain. Nicholas Adams moved into fifth. McGourty pulled alongside Truman at the long tabletop and finally made the pass three corners later. At halfway, McGourty made a mistake, which cost Truman third. Kain was there to capitalize, and the order was set. The order at the start of moto two was Stewart, Baker, McGourty, Augie Lieber and Ryan Sipes. At the end of lap one, McGourty and Lieber moved past Baker. Stewart fell on lap two, remounting at the back. Everyone moved up a spot. Sipes was now third, followed by Adams and Baker. Stewart battled his way back up to ninth by moto's end. McGourty took the win and the overall. On the last CRAIG JOHNSON AND ANGELA HARDEN OKEECHOBEE, FL, JAN. 21 onald McGourty proved he could ride an all-sand supercross track during the fourth round of the 30th annual Florida Winter Series. McGourty zapped the competition in the first moto of the day, in the 16-24 class, then placed second in the first 125cc B moto and then scored another first in the second 16-24 moto. His best moto of the day was his last; he won the second 125cc B moto and the overall. The day started off a little cold for south-central Florida but warmed to the 60s by midday. There are plenty of riders down in south Florida, and more than 520 turned out for the event.
