Kacir took home the moto win and the overall. Huckabee did the same in the Intermediate class, with Continental Airlines' Jason Nimitz taking second for second overall. Aaron Brumbaugh rounded out the top three in the Intermediate class with 2-3 scores on the day. Elizabeth McFarland took the holeshot in the first moto of the Women's Open class. Her lead didn't last long, though, as Sheree Schultz made her move for the lead early and began to set a rapid pace. Katie Hudson was on McFarland's fender, and she took the position from McFarland before the end of the first lap. Schultz already had a large lead at this point, and it continued to grow, getting as large as 19 seconds. At the finish, it was all Schultz, with Hudson taking second and McFarland rounding out the top three. Angela Keith took fourth. The second moto looked a lot like the first, except Schultz took the holeshot and the early lead. Hudson was a close second during the first part of the race, with McFarland trailing her in third. It didn't take long for Schultz's pace to give her a large lead and she easily distanced herself from the field. The race ended like it started, with Schultz out front, Hudson in second and McFarland in third. Keith again took fourth. Corey Self was the man to beat in the 65cc (10-] 1) class, powering his GRC-backed KTM 65 to two holeshots and two wire-to-wire wins. Dansco/FMF/Spy/PJ 1-sponsored Zach Givens put in a fine ride for a 42 score, earning second overall. Shane Lagan was third overall on his Pasadena Kawasaki. The track was in excellent condition and held up well considering the weather. Some sprinkles did fall, but not enough to slow down the racing. Ross Motorsports' Aaron Brumbaugh took the holeshot in the combined Over 25 Intermediate/Expert class. Vince Kacir quickly put his Harlingen Motorsports Honda in the lead and began to set the pace. At the end of the first lap, Kacir was out front, with Brumbaugh in second, Galveston Honda's Ronny Huckabee in third and JM/HHR/Motorex-sponsored James Hillin in fourth. Jeremy Ross was running fifth after a poor start but was on the move, passing Hillin early on the second lap and charging up to Huckabee and Brumbaugh. When they came around to complete the second lap, there was a dogfight for second between the three Honda riders. Ross didn't spend much time worrying about Brumbaugh and Huckabee, passing them and setting after Kacir. Ross closed the gap considerably, but the battle for first never materialized. Ross stalled his bike briefly and gave second and third back to Brumbaugh and Huckabee. One lap later, Ross was again in second, chasing after Kacir. However, with the white flag already out, there wasn't much time. Kacir took the win, with Ross in second. Huckabee passed Brumbaugh to take first Intermediate honors. O'Neal rider Keith Darrow snagged the holeshot in the second moto, but Kacir again took the lead and set the pace. Darrow had his hands full with Brumbaugh and Huckabee, both of whom passed Darrow to take over second and third. Huckabee and Brumbaugh seemed to be stuck together all moto. Ross was again charging through the field after a poor start.
