Brian Bums scored his First-ev er 125cc Begin ner class wi n at Sta rwes t a ft er a cl o se ra ce with

motocross.
Bu rns and Prahm had a mot o lo n g battle
from the drop of the gate to the finis h during the
first l25cc Beginner-cla ss race . Burn s seemed
fa ster on th e straig h ts, w h ile Pra hm pow ered
.... throug h the turns with more a u tho ri ty, but in
the end Burn s held on and sco red the first-moto
victory by the clost.-st o f mar gin s.
The second moto began mu ch like th e first ,
but th is t imc Burns a nd hi s John Burr C vclesspo nso red Yamaha had a n eas ier go of it aft er
Prahm fell a few times. Burns qu ickl y ou tdi stanced the field fur what a p pea red to be an easy
vict ory and cele brated his overall win by thrusting hi s ha n d in the air at th e finish lin e, Matt
Ramse from nearby uevo picked up the runy
ner-up hono rs in the wa ke of Prahm' s problems.
Prahm salva ged third ov erall via his 2-5 s ho w ing.
C h ris Taft had an excit in g night, sco rin g a
pair of moto victories in th e 60cc 0-8 d ivision.
The younges t Taft even fell hard once afte r losing control of his KX just after the Gravity Cavitv sec tion , But in the end, Taft s hoo k it o ff and
we nt o n for the nigh t's number-one spot on h is
Race Plates Un lim ited- backed Kawasaki.
