Reed, with clea r tra ck ahead, began to pull away from Cobb and close on the lead er . With the checkered flag waving, Mulder took the w in, with Reed too far back to mount a cha lle nge. D' A mb ruoso ran in hard going into three, ge tting a wheel ahead o f Lu ndgren on the ou tside, bot h riders carrying a lot of speed and closing on the lead er. Lundgre n got the better drive co ming onto the fron t straight to take second back. D'Ambruoso tried the same move on the next lap, running in beside Lu ndgren, neither rider giving an in ch. Lun d gre n s till had the ad va n tage, bu t no w (oncoo the pair had fallen in nose-to-tail with the lead e r . Ra d a r h ad th e screaming q uarte r -lite r twi ns run n in g 99 m ph head ing in to tum one! Lun dgren lost a bit of speed, or D'Am bruoso limed the draft jus t righ t, but eit her way, Lu nd gre n was d rop ped to thi rd on the back straight. Frauenberger, perhaps pushing jus t a little too hard , slipped off the groove in three and four . D' Am bruoso took over the lead , with Lundgren back a few bike lengths, leaving Frauenberger to try and make up th e lost time. Lundgren also had a trip in to the ma rbles in tum three on the white flag lap, handing the win to D' Arnbruoso, who put in a flawless ride. Lundgren held on to second , and Frauenberger closed the ga p, takin g third . Rob ert Bacosa an d Greg Sauder bo th ran past Payne's Ho nda, giving Wood -Rotax a sweep of the to p five. Payne hel d sixth, with a ga p ba ck to Ellio tt Ive rson and Larry Greene.
