Kent and Warrington held on to fourth and fifth, with john Fritz com ple ting the Triumph s weep in sixth, ahead of the lone Yama ha of Tom Booth . Mulder took off again with his traditional holeshot in the jRC /Oregon Cascade Water 750cc A main held later in the day. He led Bob Cobb on the She ll Yamaha, Rick Reed on his C&j Trium ph and Dante D' Ambruoso's gi an t killer 350 Yamaha twin. Mulder cruised out front on The Shop's '74 XR750 Harley, while Cobb and Reed began to close the gap to the lead er a few feet each lap. Don jones brought a radar gun, and stand ing in turn one had Mulder run-ning between 110 and 112 miles per hour, with Cobb a nd Reed running at 109. D' Am b ruoso fell back, lacking the " motor of the big twins , while Pinon Hills ' Jeff johnson and Rialto's Jeff Johnson closed in . John Lundgren, Brian Coakley and Carl Dilores followed on a trio of Yamahas, Lundgren on another 350 twin.
