love sand tracks." But I get out there and it's like a Glamis sand track, like the beach or something. It was like a different kind of riding than I've ever done. It was kind of like wide-openor-nothing riding. I was riding like shit. I was going to race, but I decided not to race because I had a gig to play in a little while. All the guys out there were pretty used to it already, and I could barley make a lap around the track because it was such deep sand. It was an awesome experience though. They had sidecars racing. I did some filming out there; I don't know if we'll use it for XXX or anything. Probably not, but it was a really good time for me. I wish I could do more of that, but when you're out there with the band, you're basically playing every night from city to city to city. It's a nonstop deal, and you're working every night so you don't really have free time to go off and do your own thing like that, which is a bummer. We have a lot of fans in Europe. We're doing a good job of crossing over motocross into punk-rock. Any gig I go to, if they have a video-monitor system, I always put in a Moto XXX video to expose the punk rock kids who are unfamiliar with motocross but know the music on the video. Especially in Europe where they haven't seen our videos much. They love it and they're so into it because it's all familiar music' that they like. Sometimes I just sit back and watch in awe. That's an awesome feeling. You know they know nothing about motocross, but they check it out and they're going, "Gh my God, this is bad-ass. " Q ThiS may be a stupid ques- tion, but if you had to give up one thing. would you give up your music or would you give up the team? lt's kind of strange because someone actually asked me that question last night on the Internet. They're like, "What do you like better, the motocross thing or your band?" I just answered, "I love them both." It's such a tough question to answer. I think if I could be a professional motocrosser, that was my dream as a kid before I ever got into music. I was all about motocross. That was my whole deal. I don't want to have to think about giving either one of them up. I love them both. I think I'm fortunate to be in the situation that I'm in, to have two really cool things going on, and I enjoy both of them. You have to think about how you are fortunate to be in that type of situation because there are a lot of people who don't have one cool thing that they like doing. _ A For more information about MotoXXX, sign on to www.motoxxx.net or call 888/784-5349 San Diego Supercross Tickets EI Cajon Moto World Of EI Cajon 660 EI Cajon Blvd. (619) 442-3338 Escondido North County Yamaha 1315 Las Villas Way (760) 432-9501 Laguna Niguel Mission Yamaha Inc. 25891 Crown Valley Parkway (949) 582-0351 La Habra LeBard & Underwood 321 E.
