front. With a clear track in front of him , Gatan
disappeared wi th the second -mote win . Co llins

po iot; then he slow ly reeled in Roth as to make
the pass for second place with a lap remaining,
whi ch was all he needed to earn the overall win .
Gatan's 5-1 got the better of the 3-3 of Rothas for
the second-p lace trop hy.
Jeff Loop easily ran awa y with the 80cc Intermedia te first-mote win, while Zac Wrayand Cas
Swif t had their sha re of troubles wi th lappe rs
and with staying on the track.
Wray returned to domin ate the second moto
on his YZSO for the overall wi n. Loop finish ed
second , ahead of Swift.

McConnell was on the receivi ng end of on e of
the nastier crash es of the night, he came ba ck
and won the Hand icap main, wh ile Brad Oxley
p ulled off a win in the Scra tch main a nd a second in the Hand ica p.

in three . Brad Oxley was in four , with Cha rlie
Venega s on the outsid e, in five . Schwa rt z cut
the best gate but lost his footpeg a nd mad e it

pulle to the infield . Brant took over, bu t there

was a very determin ed Oxley chip ping awa y at
him a nd wit h tw o laps to go, Oxley took over
and brou gh t it on hom e for the win . Brant finished seco nd, with Ve negas a nd Hic ks third
and fourth.
The lineup for the Ha ndicap main had Ryan
Fisher and Cha rlie Coo ley on the 3O-yard line .
There w as no o ne on th e 40, a nd Ed Cast ro ,
McCon nt?'ll and Brant were all lined up on the
50. The 60 was shared by Oxley, Schwartz and
Venegas. Fisher was un able to make the call. so
the race turned into a seven-man event. At the
start, Cooley we nt ou t strong. but Brant ran him
down at the end of tw o an d too k the lead. He
held on for thr ee a nd then it was McConnell
who took cha rge. This woul d be no walk in the
pa rk, as Oxley was right behind him a nd look ing for a double win on the nig ht. Both rid ers .

Oxley tried e very th ing, but in the end it was

cting all the marbles. Oxley was

race. The team of Duane Carm ont an d Richard
Taling drew the pole, with the Mission Yamaha
team of BiIJ Matherso n a nd Dale Leeder in two.

Dwa yne King, and on the ou tside it was Steve
Mo rrow a nd Chri s Cha p ma n. Mather son an d
Leeder cu t the ht.ost gate a nd mad e a run for it.

Brayton and King settled for third , and Morrow
a nd Cha pman were fourth.
