he consisten tly ga ined ab out a 10-bik e-len gth
lead by d earin g thc obstacle, while Matson , having not yct mastered the jum p, had to sing le over
it. However, Matson appea red faster in the turns
a nd stra ig hts, as he qu ickly reeled Ma rka rian
back in each la p. B.1Ck in the pack, Woods continued to hold down third, wh ile Aaron Di'Ciano,
who had a poo r start, made his way through the
. pack and came up to challenge Woods. Altho ug h
tho tv vo were a little off the pace of the front-runners, the race for th ird was intense, as Di'Ciano
a ppea red to have an edge in the whoop section,
tho ug h Wood s, who appeared d etermi ned , continued to hold his groun d .
Meanwhile, up front, Markarian and Matson
crossed the wh ite flag nearl y side by side, a nd
one mistake would mak e the di fference. Unfortu na tcly fo r Mat son, Marka rian didn ' t ma ke

across for the win, with Matson in tow. Woods
took third , ahead of Di'Cian o, with Honda pilot
Rory Rad o vich pu tting in a valia nt effo rt to
rou nd out the top five.
Moto two once again sa w Matson lead the
pack in to the first tum, with Markarian, Wood s,
Di'Ciano and Enzweiler in pursuit. Matson bobbled in a tricky left-ban de r and Mar karian and
Woods made th eir way by . Mat son qu ickly
recovered and zapped Wood s in the wh oop section. Wit h Ma rka rian leading, Ma tson p ut his
head down and took off after the leader. Matson
qui ckly reeled in Markarian and took a high line

once again only a mistake wo uld make the difference. That misti1kc wo u ld come cou rtesy of
Mat son . A~ the tw o hit the big ste p- up jum p,
Matson sing led and looked up to see Markarian

went by as Matso n had tro u ble reco ver in g ,
eventually fading back to fifth.
Meanwhile, Enzweiler mad e his way in to
