MaComber tops Barona Motocross By Horner Eubanks RAMONA, CA, JULY12 A very warm July week end was heated up even mo re with tw o d a ys o f m o tocTOSS ra cing at Barona Oaks Raceway. Saturda y' s event d rew ISO rid ers, wi th 176 rid ers taking to the trac k on Sunday. Cory MaCom ber was the big winner on the ma in track wi th his d omina nce in bot h the 125cc No vice and 125cc (12-15) classes. On the srnalle r Tra ck II , Micha el Hall went hom e as the las t guy on the day by win ning the Pee Wee (7-8) Stock class belore finishing seco nd to Jus tin Morgan in the Pee Wee Mod ified class. MaC omber's visit to Baro na tu rn ed ou t to be a s pa n king for the 125cc rid er s, MaComber, howe ve r, w a s kept h o n e s t as Jo h n Me y ers denied him a simple Sunday ride in the ovice co ntes t. Meye rs d ogged Ma Comber in both motos but in the end couldn' t mat ch his pace. Th ird p lace went to David Fox, wh o man aged repeat third -place finis hes . MaComber cam e back out in the 125cc (1215) class and ag ain earn ed repea t win s.
