No rthrup had a very good night for himself as he picked up th ree class w ins. Two of the wins came on his spa rkling 800cc Triumph. He nailed the Open-class win with a fine 3.~ e nd tim e, ed gin g the King City club president, l1 05cc Ka wasa ki rid er Stev e Mu lli ns , who turned a good 3.973 seco nds for seco nd p lace. No rthrup flew the Triumph over the top in 3.997 seconds in the Pushrod class for that win. w ith Steve Shafer running second with 3 4.347--second time on his classy Harley. No rthrup's third win cam e in the Stock class, where he topped. the hill in 4.466 seco nds on his Sportland Yamaha, wi th Gary Edmison claiming the second spot with a 4.676-5<0000 lime. barely ahead of Mark Goodma n, who carded a 4.764·second time on his KX25O. Goo dm an al so had a go od night, a s he cl.1imcd the win in the 250cc class with a 4.194second time on his KX2.5O, just edging the 4.203second time posted by Fortn er. Goodma n also added a third-place finish in the 200cc class to co m p lete a fair ly s ucce-ssful night for the 14· year-old rider from Ind ianapo lis. The onl y lad y rid e r, lS·yea r-old Becky Williams, had to be pleased wi th her pe rfo rmance, as she p icked up the w in in the 85cc Youth class and secon d place in the 200cc class. Becky turned 5.464 seconds on her KX80 to slip under Jared. Ha yes, who carded a nice 5.648 second s on hi s fi rst ri de. In othe r Youth -class action , Marl Matthews charged his JRSO 90 feet up the hill in th e SOc Automatic cla ss to take c that win , followed by Tommy Bruce with a good 7g..foot ride on his Honda. Stewart's first win came in the 200cc class, wh ere he took his CRl25 ove r th e top in 5.70 St!COOOs for the win. Iowans Glenn Fuegen and jero me Beckley follow ed Stewart wi th 6.1:;' and 6.51 -s econd times, r e specti v ely , on their KDX200s, w hile Scott Sheet> claimed the fourth s p o t in 6.63 secon ds.
