night,. soaking the pit ar ea an d su bm erging parts
of the 'IT track. The sandy, weJl-drained short
track surf ace was virtually unaffected. however.
and the decision was made to scrap the IT an d
run th e short track on Sunday. Desp ite a smaIlcr
rider turnout due to the con diti ons, three Amateur and tw o Pro VDTRA cla.....;cs w ere run,. with

ra cing, with Gadd is, Jon es and Ezcri ns finish ing
at the top in the finot mo to. Iones gut the best of
Gaddis by taking the seco nd -mote ....;-0 in front
of Gaddis and Povoln y. jones took the overall,
with Gad d is second, and ja ckson rounded out
the top three with a 4-4.
- I felt pretty good and got by him in the second tum. Jones said of his mota-two win. "Bu t
Jinuny is a friend of mine an d rides for Nielsen
as well so I guess if it' s him or me, I'm happy."

Joh n Bru nck fired around tu m one of the
first m oto of 125cc A raci ng. chased by Ch ris
Mowery and Culton. Mo wery developed b il e
prob lems an d pulled off the track, pu tting Cul ton into second, Culton sta yed on Bru nck's rear
fender until lap four, when he made his move to
take the lead . Brunck attempted to regain the
front spot, but was unsuccessful as Culton ran
off and left the field to chalk up his third moto
win of the da y .
Kawasaki of Midd l4:.'Sboro / Uni /Tracksidesponsored Adam Vau ghn was the quickest out
of the gate in the second mot o, chased by Cul ton , Robert Goldson and Brunck. Vaughn IN
until the third lap, when Culton again moved to
the front , where be remained until the end of the
mo to. Two laps before the end of the race, secend-place Go ldso n pulled off the track , thinking
the race was over. With Goldson 's error, Brunck
moved to second . Goldson re-en tered the race in
time to finish third.
