time on the nO-foot climb.

"It (the hill) will favor the big twostrokes," sa id AMA District 17 Champio n Steve Shafer, who rod e several classe s dur in g th e da y . "T h e hill' s a bit

climb, but it' s a hard one to go fast on."

with Sha fer, was Will iam Myers, w ho

751cc-and -u p d ass. Myers, wh o posted
a n 8.94 to lea d going in to h is se co nd
climb, sa id, "I'm not sure if I sho uld just
take it easy, o r go for it."

was Suzuki rid er Jacob Kelverleber with
a second run of 97 feet, well beh ind the
187-foot m ark of Myers but ahead of
Cobra rid er L.N Waggener' s 79-foot
mark.
