Semics soars at
Pleasure Valley MX

Gary Semics dominated the Vet A class at round
one of ,the District 5 Stale Championship Series,
held at Pleasure Valley Raceway.
Semics shot into the first tum with Jeff Ellenberger, John Brant, Fred Turjan and Darren
Lindh rounding out the top five. As Semics
pulled away up front with Ellenberger in tow,
the midpack battles were just beginning.
Positions changed as they shot into the first
straightaway with Bink Gross sliding into third,
leaving Brant in fourth and David Bittner in
fifth. Bittner made his move on Brant coming
ut of the woods section.
As Brant began to fade, Mark Garrison was
coming on strong from a mid pack start. Garrison passed a tiring Gross for third on the second
lap, and Jeff Provance passed Bittner for fifth.
Semics pulled an eight-second lead, with Ellenberger, Garrison and Provance rounding out the
top four.
With two laps .left, Provance moved into
third, passing Garrison through the whoops section, as Turjan flew past Gross over the skycoaster. Turjan was still on the move coming
past the white flag and blew past Garrison
through the whoops section. While Semics
pulled dose to a 2Q-second lead over EUenbergr, Provance was right on Ellenberger's back tire
t the checkers. Rounding out the top five were

Provance darted into the early lead in moto
two, with Semics in second. Behind them were
ross, Ellenberger and Garrison. Garrison
assed Gross and Ellenberger in the woods for
third. After following Provance for almost the
ntire lap, Semics shoved his way into first.
