Fisher catches Castle RockTT win By Clay Lig ht CASTLE ROCK, WA, MAY10 Or egon ' s Rex Fisher, the n at ion a l nu m ber-12 plat e h olde r, flew to a win in the Expert mai n even t at the season-opening round of the Northwest IT season at the Castle Rock Clubgrcunds. No r ma lly, th e w eath e r in Washin gt on doe sn 't allow m u ch racing to occu r until late June. Luckily, the rain held off lon g eno ugh to showcase several imp ressive perform ances, such as a Del Schnitzer I Fisher swa pfest for the lead in th e first of tw o Exp ert qu alifi ers. Sch nitzer scored the win . Heat tw o wen t to national num ber 55 Troy Rose, ed ging Chri s Fitzhugh . In the 12-rider, 20-lap Expe rt final, pole-sitter Schnitzer took immed iate contro l at the unl eash in g, followed by Fish e r, Rose, Fitzhu gh a nd Ryan And erson. Schnitzer's Rotax expired a t the end o f a lap, ha nding Fisher a lead he would neve r relinqu ish, Th e battl e for second, tho u gh , w ou ld ra ge unti l the final lap betw een Rose, Ron Waters an d And er son. Wa ters, who ' wa s deb ut ing hi s new national num bcr-30 plates to his hometown fans, got the d rive to nab Rose for second, his best finish in th e past se vera l yea rs, w h ile Ros e sa lvoged a third ahead of Anderson and Fitzhugh. Equa lly as im p ress ive w as Na tiona l 80cc Champion [ak e Holden, wh o wa lked awa y with the 80cc A mai n ahead of Kurt Hawk, then came back to win the 250cc DTX class, edging Ha wk and Eric Beer s. Tod d Hagmann led the Pro-Am class sta rtto-finish to continue his domination of the class. Secon d to Hagmann was Josh Currey, followed by Fra nk Marker, Beau Brown and Mar k Stu debaker. Moody mighty at Daniel's Ridge Motocross By Mark Walker TAYLORSvllLE, NC.MAY 11 Michael Mood y led the 125cc D class from the dro p of the gate to the check ered flag at the new Daniel's Rid ge Supercross track in Taylo rsville, North Carolina. At only his second Daniel' s Ridge race of the se aso n th e you ng ri d er showed p romise o f becoming a futu re top rid er. Mood y was chal lenged very little and sho wed grea t poise to pull away and han g on for hi s second con secu tive win. The most exciting rid er of the d ay was th e youngs ter Joey Garn es in the Senio r and SUpE'T Mini classes. Joey took th e checke red flag in both classes with the spee d an d agg ression of a Pro-class rider. He's sma ll in statu re and weigh t but rides big, very big. This young man is very soft- spoken, well -m annered an d b less ed w ith tons of talent. This could be the making of this sport 's futu re top gun on and off th e supercross circu it. Results z.
