nately for Busenbark, though, Letellier's KTM would give up the ghost while in close pursuit. Busenbark suddenly found himself with a commanding lead and would hold on to his advantage throughout the duration of the race. The Yamaha rider finished out the 100-mile race in.just over three and a half hours to claim .overall honors ahead of Kawasaki Team Green rider Chris Thiele, who crossed the finish line a little more than two minutes behind Busenbark. Finishing a minute back was third-place finisher Ken Yount, also on a Yamaha. Rounding out the top five overall were Allen Haynes and Chris Garber, both mounted on Yamahas. In the Intermediate class, Jeff Lappe completed five laps in three hours and 51 minutes to take top class honors. Kelly Getz led much of the way until Lappe passed him On the final lap. Getz held on for second, 20 seconds behind Lappe. Third went to Bob Lowery, followed by Mike Kruger and Jason Counts. Tanner Englund hammered the Open class on his Honda CR500 despite the relentless attacks by Ross Logan, who never trailed Englund by more than a minute. David Haworth took home the third-plac.e trophy, while Stephan Weidan and John Newberry competed the top five in class. Gary Mittelberg used a good start to pull to the fron t on the second lap in the 200cc class. Steve Crews and Kevin Betts gave a good chase but w-ere basically held back by the choking dust. Mittelberg finished five laps in four hours and seven minutes for first place. Betts held on for second ahead of Crews. Jason Stegall, the 125cc-class winner, came through the scoring ten t on the first lap in third and slowly reeled in his opponents over the next four laps. Steve Bough stayed on Stegall's tail to finish in the runner-up spot only five seconds behind. Mike Windmann made the best of a good start by going on to win the FourStroke class, leading from start to finish. Charles Thiele was another rider who took advantage of a q~ick getaway to win the Senior class. Robert Caplinger won the Super Senior division over John Oller and Larry Hayes.
