jump at the bottom, making it a totally different challenge than that faced in July when Lloyd Haas claimed the fast-time trophy with a 2.60second run on his CRSOO. What didn't change, however, was the fast-time trophy going to -Haas, who took it this time with a 3.SS-second run on his Honda. Haas actually tied for fast time with Marc Stamm, but Haas prevailed in the tie breaker with a 3.82-second run, good enough to claim the win as Stamm scored 3.85 seconds. In other class action, Jackie Mason claimed the Mini-<:lass title with an excellent high-flying 4.32-second run on his Downers Grove Honda. National Champion Anthony DeHart was close behind with a 4.46-second run on his CR80. More important than the win, perhaps, was the fact that the double points brought Mason from one point behind DeHart to seven points ahead with the season-ending doubleheader climb coming up on September 9-10. DeHart will basicaUy have to win twice at the Pleasure Riders to take the district point championship. Dan Myers took third place on his Honda in 4.62 seconds with his brother Bill only one-hundredth behind him on a Suzuki at 4.63 seconds. Josh Hovey filled out the top five with a 4.77-second pass on his Kawasaki. . The 200cc-class win went to young Justin Meyer on his KDX200 in a fme 3.96-second ride just three-hundredths ahead of Andy Forme, . who was riding Jason Northrup's Kawasaki. Mel Piontek came in third on his KDX200 in 4.09 seconds, with Randy Covell carding a 4.35-second run for fourth. Jerome Beckley placed fifth in 4.38 seconds on his KDX200.
