SAN BERNARDINO, CA, SEPT. 10
he inaugural Chaparral Grand
Prix at Glen Helen promised a
little 'bit of everything motocross, fire roads, desert
sections and a jaunt through the Sheriff's department road course. During the
two-hour event, the eight-mile course
would test a rider's machinery, fitness
and versatility. In the end, it would be
the most well-rounded racer who would
prevail.
So, who won? Anyone who has been
following off-road racing in recent years
should already know the answer to that
question. Kawasaki Team Green's Ty
Davis not only ran away with a convincing ~in, he absolutely demoralized the
Pro-class field as he lapped everyone even second-place finisher Craig
Adams.

the upcoming Tonopah 300.

northwestern hills of the facility. From
there, racers were routed onto the vintage MX track, then into a high-speed
desert sand wash section that connected with the Sheriff's training-facility
road course. Approximately ope and a
half miles of the high-speed road
course was utilized, including one section that had two air-inducing humps.
From there, it was back into the dirt for
a trip around the ~peedway oval before
heading back onto the vintage and
.motocross tracks.
"It was so fun," said Davis. "The
course layout was really good, and the
promoter does a good job. 1 was catch-
