Ferris flying at Silver State MX By Joan Tleamey CARSON OTY, CA,jUNE 16 30 Thin Airs Ryan Ferris stomped the competition aboard his Yamaha, taking two moto wins for the overall victory in the Pee Wee class when Friday-night summer racing returned to Silver State Raceway. . Ferris holeshot with seven other hard-charging Pee Wees as he conquered the jumps and handled tabletops with ease. Jake Nueffer and his K1M rode in second place along with Chris Walton on a KTM. The three front-runners had a great race going with Ferris riding perfectly out front, having no trouble even through lapped traffic. Over the huge tabletop finish jump, Ferris flew with the checkered flag awaiting him. Second place belonged to Nueffer, third went to Joel Grosskopf aboard hjs Suzuki. In fourth place was Chris Walton and first-timer Wayne Appleton Jr. landed fifth. In moto two, the start went to Ferris again with Walton not far behind. Grosskopf held on to third and Walton again rode in fourth. Nick Cohee rounded out the top five. Ferris topped the field and continued to race his own race. When the checkered flag was waved, Ferris had the win with Nueffer not far off the pace in second. Walton bettered his first moto by one place to get third overalL Fourth place went to Grosskopf and Appleton put in a great first race taking fifth place overall. 80 JR: 1. Freddy Welchera (Hon); 2.
