and Price knew that was the fastest way around
and they passeii the youngster. Veeder also followed them past and into third ahead of Coolbeth.
While Price made every attempt to overtake
the Bell Helmets/J &: J Radiator/Mom and Dadsponsored Durkee, he fell short by a bike length
of beating Durkee to the finish line for the win.

As the tapes flew skyward Tommy Hedden
was the first to react and had a slight advantage
as the group entered the first tum. But Bobby
Hedden found the best line coming out of tum
two and grasped the lead from his brother by
the time the leaders entered the second set of
tum. Sisemore had designs on the same line as
Bobby Hedden, bu t he entered the first tum a
little behind and found himself running last,
looking for a way around Bast, who also suffered an uncharacteristic poor start.
The race was soon for second as Bobby Hedden was hooked up and dialed in, pulling away
with each lap. Ba t did manage a last-tum inside
pass of Tommy Hedden to claim second place a
dozen bike lengths behind Bobby Hedden.
Tommy Hedden was third and Sisemore fourth. .
The Handicap main was won by the surprising Chad Felicio while the Second- and ThirdDivision main victories belonged to Sean Conley

Richtmeyer, Durkee race to
Malta ST wins
By Larry McBride
MALTA, NY, JUNE 8
Returning to racing last year after a seven-year
retirement, George Richtmeyer showed the old
form that carried him to numerous victories by
notching a double win during the first annual
Americade motorcycle race at the Albany
Saratoga Speedway. Roger Durkee won the
600cc Pro final.
Richtmeyer scored his first win in the Vintage class heat. Getting a slow start in the final,
Richtmeyer entered tum one a distant fourth
behind Chris Wnnk. With both riders Triumphmounted, it took Richtmeyer nearly six laps to
close the gap and overtake Wnuk for the win.
The Open Amateur class again saw Richtmeyer sitting too long on the line. After lap one,
he was nearly a quarter of the track behind the
field, which was led by Mike Magoon. However,
Richtmeyer dosed the distance with each lap.
With a late charge, he took the lead on the last
circuit from Jeff Swenson for the second victory.
In the final event the 600cc Pro class pitted
veterans against youngsters, and was a real
shootout for the first four spots. Circuit number
one had 1994 AMA Grand National Rookie of
the Year Ken Coolbeth Jr. holding down the lead
with Roger Durkee, Jason I'letcher, Duane Veeder, and Georgie Price IV bunched for second.
Through lap four, Coolbeth was having difficulty holding a low line and entered the turns on
the high side leaving space on the pipe. Durkee

Jorgensen frustrates
Meiring at Lodi ST.
By Donna Hall
LOD1, CA,jUNE 17
Tony Meiring will remember this day for a little
while as the youngster came closer to taking the
l00cc A feature win at the Lodi Cycle Bowl than
he had all season. But in the end, defending
l00cc A Champion Toby Jorgensen, nephew of
former Grand National rider Alex Jorgenson,
came from behind and made a clean pass with a
couple of laps to go to secure the feature win.
Both Jorgensen and Meiring campaign Lodi on
a weekly basis in both TT and short track
even.ts.
In the 80cc A class, Brandon George gave it
all he had in an effort to beat Jorgensen. George
really put the pressure on Jorgensen and let the
mini sensation know that he was getting some
competition. George not only had to contend
with setting up Jorgensen for a possible pass but
also had Meiring right on his rear wheel for the
entire eight laps. Jorgensen won, with George
and Meiring right on his rear wheel at the finish.
The 100cc Adults made some interesting
moves on the track. Engines Only owner Frank
Nye Sr. took the win, but Billy Arbogast once
again came from the cheaters box - this seems to
be the weekly agenda for Arbogast - and managed a third-place finish behind Dominic
DeMario.

Depauw detennined at
Silver State MX
By Joen Tleamey
CARSON OTY, NV, JUNE 4
Michael's Cycle's Suzuki-mounted John DePauw
won the 125cc Intermediate class during round
four of the CMC Spring Classic North Series at Silver State Raceway.
Depauw and Cliff Cook highlighted the moto
as DePauw hoIeshot. Cook, Wyatt Whitten, David
Lodermeier and Dennis Stapleton rounded out
top five. DePauw led the moto until the fifth lap
where Cook made a pass to finish ahead of
DePauw. Third went to Whitten, Stapleton passed
Lodermeier on lap four to finish fourth while
Lodermeier took fifth.
Moto two was all Depauw as he grabbed the
holeshot again and set it on autopilot. DePauw
was smooth and continued the fast pace with no
threat from the rest of the field. Cook, running in
second pushed his Kawasaki hard but to no avail.
Lodermeier continued to cha.llenge Cook and
made a pass on lap two to take over second position for three laps. On lap five however, Cook
made an inside pass on Lodermeier to regain his
position. Meanwhile, DePauw co!'tinued to pull
away.
DePauw captured the win and the overall for
the day, while Cook finished in second, Lodermeier third, Stapleton was fourth and Whitten
landed fifth overall.
Fox Racing-backed, Suzuki-mounted Pat
Gomm was the winner over Shane Esposito in the
250cc Pro class. Esposito put in a gallant effort racing with a faulty transmission on his Suzuki.
Esposito traded wins with Gomm taking the 125cc
Pro class win. Scott StiIImock ended in third place
for the day.
