Vall rode a great race on his Big D'sl Ana heim Suzuki-sponsored Kawasaki, easily taking
the top spo t in the 250 Pro 's first race. The race
for second was headed up by Guy Ducker on a
DTX-style XR250 Honda, followed by Marvin
Moore. Raymo nd Garcia an d Brett Bemis . Garcia
wor ked aro und Moore for third, but di dn't have
enough laps left to catch Ducker.
Garcia lau nched his Yamaha into the lead of
the seco nd " mo te" , as Moore, Du cket and Voll
tried to sort ou t S<.'COnd place. Ducket and Moore
bo th fell victim to Vall as he took over second
and looked fo r a way around Garci a . Voll
passed Garcia twice on the ins ide, only to fall
v icti m to an Eamhardt -style p as s coming
aro und onto the back straight. At the white flag,
Vall came out underneath Garcia, and the two
came across the line too close to call. Thescorers
ga ve the wi n to Garcia while the fans in th e
stands gave it to Vall. and the fans prevailed.
Moore, Ducket and Be mis completed th e
top five.

MacDonald hammers

Shawn MacDonald claimed the 250cc Ju nior
clas s wins at Silver Sta te Raceway aboard his
red hot Honda.
The O 'N eal -sponso red MacDonald p u t in
two perfect motos and made it look eas y even
after having taken a season off. Layne Kolbe! got
the holeshot with MacDonald close behind on
lap one. Jim Fry and Bret Irvine rounded top
four positions. By lap two, however, MacDonald
put his plan to work, passing Kolbe! to take the
lea d . Kolbet pushed hard, but Ma cDonald
stepped up the pace and never looked back. Fry,
Irvine and Darren Reid kept the third through
fifth positions. MacDo nald took the checkered
flag witho ut being threa tened. Kolbet finished a
di stant second . Third place went to Fry, fourth
was Irvine and filth was Reid.
In mota two , MacDona ld gated perfectly to
take the lea d , Kolbet followed in seco n d. The
two Hondas were neck and neck for three laps
as both riders left the pack. Jim Fry agai n ran in
third while Reid was fo u r th ahead of To m
Lynn . MacDonald conti nued his winning streak
on the fast track with speed an d confidence to
take the checkered flag. Kolbe! ea med a second
overall for the day. Fry got third , Darren Reid
fourth and Tom Lynn fifth. Justin Tieamey dominated the 250cc Pro class aboard his Michael 's

Plt-backed Suzuki, winning both motos easily.
Scott Stillmock rod e an excellent race to finish
second behind Tieamcy. Kenny Lash was third
and snowboarder Shaun Palmer finished fourth.

Honda CRBO rid er Michae l Young outdistanced
his competition en ro ute to a perfect four-m oto
sweep of the BOcc (14-16) and BOcc Open classes
d uring Ca lifornia Ra cing Club' s Sund ay
motocross at Los Angeles County Racewa y.
Youn g totally roos ted the field in the first
BOcc (14-16) race, leading fro m the drop of the
gate to the checkered flag un contested. George
La "Monte dogged Jason Webb in seco nd place
for a couple of laps before making the pass and
holding down that position un til the finish. Josh
Ahem overtook Devin Seeger on the white flag
lap to earn fourth.
La M onte p o w ered to t he seco n d- mo to
holeshot with Webb and Young in hot pursuit.
Young got around Webb with jus t over a lap
com p leted . La Mont e had trouble and dropped
to fifth. Young inherited the lead and proceeded
to distance himself from the pack for the win.
Webb cruised home to a lonely second-place finish ahea d of La Monte, who worked back to
take third.
La Mo nte returned to grab the lead at the
start of the firs t 80cc Open mo ta . J.J. Bona nno
and Scott Howe were running second and third,
respectively, just in front of Young . By the second lap, Young picked off Howe and a lap later
di d th e sa me to Bonanno to ta ke ove r seco nd

back to secon d where he wou ld stay for the
duration.

Bonanno, and by the completion of lap one, the

Greg Andrew was u ntouchable in the first
round of the 125cc Novice class, going wire-towire for the win. Jake Gribbon ran a consistent
second where he would finish jus t ahea d
of Keny Terra ccian o, who worked up from a
seventh-place start.
Terracdano got a much better start in mota
tw o, lead in g A n d rew, Gri b bon a nd Jason
Ho w a rd Terraccia no and An drew went at it
head -to-head, with the two rid ers pulling clear
of Gribbon' in the final stages . Andrew couldn't
find a way around Terracciano, but his runnerup finish was good enough to claim the overall
win. Terracciano picked u p a seco nd place tr0phy with his 3-1 score .
