Most impo rtantly. an awar d of appreciation from riders and friends was pr esented to Phil "Om ar" Little, comme mo rating his time less energy in making D-23 dirt trac k racing possible. Her e are some stats from the 1994 race sea son; Billy Hoffrniester scored his third consecu tive AMA 600cc Pro-Am class champions hip in wha t proved to be the most competitive season in recent history . During the nine races held this yea r, the re were six different winners. The title wasn't decided until the fina l round . After the numbers were tallied , a scant thre points sepae rated the top three finishers. Although Hoffmi ester faile d to score an event victory, frequen t top finishes earned him the championship. Kurt Boelalke and Rand y Triplett. both of who m are one-time even t wi nners finished second and th ird in the point standing s. respecti vely. Pete r Hook ended up fourth overall and won the final two races . Eric Brouhard finished fifth overa ll, with hon orabl e mention going to three-time class winner Davey Durel le. Verdeen Langland also no tched his th ird consecutive title in the 250cc Pro-Am class. O Langland never finished worse than third pla ce in the class while scoring two second-place finishes, including a heat race victory . Both Steve Hill and Lee Fealy compe ted in the Ope n B and 30+ classes . In the Open B class. Feely earned the championship by scoring four wins to Hill's one. A string of second-place finishes th roug ho u t the seaso n kept Hill close in the po int stan di ngs right to the en d, but Fealy was not to be denied . Th e 30+ class season wa s more dra mat ic. Hill and Fea ly ea ch scored fou r wins. But Hill edged Fealy for the champi ons hip by virtu e of his more consis ten t pod ium finishes. Hill is also the Vin tage Twin class champion by virtue of scoring six victories during the ni ne races held this seaso n. Bitsy Kanto r netted five wins in the 250cc B di vision to ea rn the crown. Kantor is also the 125cc cha m pio ns hi p wi nne r. Another d ouble class champion is jim Eastlee, wh o only netted one victory in the Single Vintage di vision . Chad Coon holeshot the 250cc'A main ahea d of McDona ld a n d Karnow while D ickso n crashed in the first tum. Karnow hammered into the lead when Coon bobbled in the whoops on lap three.
