the six-foot trophies for his fou rth overall effort.

tou ghest rival w as Sh awn Ellis . Third went to
Josh Willia ms . Man ny Ari as took home one of
the big trophies and a championshi p jacket for
his domination of the 125 (12-15) Stock class.

Kling also we n t home a d oub le wi nne r, wi th
overa lls in the Minicycle and junior Cycle (9-11)
classes. Jesu s Cam illas was rea lly close in the
junior Cycle points battle and Antho ny Bruscella fin ished th ird on the se as on . john Hopkins
kept Kling on his toes in the Mini class. Hopkins
wa s a lso a n h on or e e as t h e M ost Improved
Rider for t he season.
\OVhen it ca me to Pee Wee compe tition, Ryan
Beat stood out abo ve the rest . Beat took do uble
championships in the ju nior Cycle (0-8) d ivision
an d the Pee Wee (0-6) class as well.

Former Na tional MX Cham pion Kent Howerton was expected to be the toast of the field in

Goertz then engaged in an ea rly duel with Steve
Cardwell for the lead . But Goertz fade d on the
grueling course while Ca rdwell fough t sus pension pro blems, allow ing jeff Wilson and jerem y

burni ng out early, to take' the two top spots. Wilson was in front at the checkered flag.

Jim Neese finally scored his first main eve nt win
in the 1994-95 Action Spo rts Ind oor Mot ocross
Series at the Hun tin gton ind oor facility.
Neese had been one of the fastest riders in
the first three rounds of the series but cou ld n' t
pic k u p a w in as Dav e y Ye iek a nd Tod d
DeHoop d ominated the Columb us roun ds. The
ba ttle fo r the Pr o cla ss se ries cha m pio ns hip
en ded in a tie; Yeze k gra bbe d the 125cc title
ahea d of Del-loop and Neese, and Del-loop won
the 250cc class w ith Yeze k a nd Ne ese seco nd
and th ird. respectively.
Nee se blasted through the firs t turn at th e
head of the pac k in the 125cc Pro mai n event on
Satu rday night. The stan d ing -room -only crowd
was on their feet as Yezck and DeHoop chased
Nee se . Jeff Yentzer, Shane Lawson a nd Mike
Katin led the field trying to keep the lead ers in
sight.
Neese use d the open track to pull away from
the battle for seco nd, which belonged to Yezek
on the th ird lop . Yezc k tried to pick up the pace
slowed hi s
to catch Neese, but lap p ed rid e rs _

Neese tried to ma inta in his edge on Yeze k bu t
mad e a mistake and we nt down. Neese fell back
to eighth place, whi le Yezek an d DeH oop finished 1-2.

Sports m ain eve nt and he got an other good start
in th e 250cc main . Mark Musselman, on a Gas
Gas, got a gre at star t and head ed the field. GayIon Dickso n a nd Mik e Kat in le d a g ro u p of
seven riders. Neese qu ickly negotia ted tra ffic
and then leap t by Musselm an over the triple for
the lead on lap four . Neese took the win ahead
of Ka tt n , Yezek, Gay lon Dickson a n d Todd
De l-loop.
