But Saturday night played host to a
stand ing room only crowd that was kept
on its feet cheering on Team Kawasaki 's
Robbi e Reynard, wh o too k his place in
the winner 's circle after grabbing both
the 125 and 250cc Expert top spots.
"Th is is o ne o f the toughest tra cks
we've raced in thi s series," Buehl sa id.
"The technical whoops were the deciding factor as one mistake and it would
cost you your position."
Fourteen rider s raced 14 laps in Frid a y ' s 12Scc main, with Buehl and
Shaw n Mo rgan sharing th e s p otl igh t
together in the first turn . Buehl wa s first
to exit ·th e turn a nd lea d through the
whoo ps . Morgan kept the seco nd spot,
fo llowed by Grayson Goodman a nd
Cliff Palmer. Goodman reeled in Morgan by th e end of the bumpy section
and cut him off in the sweeper before

end of I'll' three. Palmer slid ou t on the
11th lap and lo st seve ra l p o sitions,
which open ed the d oor for Morgan to
finish third behind winner Buehl and
Go odman. Billy Whitley g ra b bed th e
holeshot to start Frid ay 's 2S0cc ma in,
with Palmer in th e n u mber-two spot.
Buehl hammered throu gh the whoops,
passed Palmer on I'll' five and began to
reel in Whitl ey . All three raced togeth er
until Whitley caugh t his second wind
and w as ab le to put some d ist an ce. on
Buehl, and then Palmer hit the ground .
Palm er worked his way back up to Morga n on lap 13 and passed for third with
th e white fla g in sig h t, as Buehl a n d
Whitley fini sh ed firs t a n d se co n d ,
respectively.

that Reyna rd, the '93 AMA Arenacross
_ Na tional Champion, was on hand Saturday night to have som e fun and prepare
for the Or lando Supercross. In the 125cc
main, Reyna rd cha sed Whitley for three
laps before blast ing through the whoops
to ta ke over s econd and ch as e after
Palmer. With thr ee lap s to go, Reynard
got by Palmer for the w in . Th e 2S0cc

led Price, Bob Sweeten and Lewis out of the second tum. Price took comma nd when he nud ged
Saunders as thev hit the third tum on the fifth
lap . Lewis and~Sweeten also slip pe d by, but
Price held on for the win .
Price abo became the first winner on a 600as
they he ld a Pro Invitation al for the big sing les.

Josh Wilso n and Brian Philli ps tra de d places
in the 55cc (4-6), and Dan Guiseppe and Ch ris
Klinefelder took the 55cc (7-8) wins. Todd Stith
an d Steve Cro mwell wo n the 12Sce classes, with '

Gary Clark and Larry Swee ten topping the 25Os
and Mark Burkholder and Clarence Bull trading
spots in the 360cc classes.
